We're currently using /sources/list to fetch the list of sources to display in the filter page, however this is not accessible in public mode.
Moreover, /sources/stats provides the number of unread articles in each source, while /sources/list does not.

/sources/stat should be used to fetch the information to provide on the home page filtering while /sources/list should be used when editing sources.
